Informed decision. Informed consent.
When someone you love needs nursing home care, you want to know they will be safe and well looked after. HIQA inspects every nursing home for older people in Ireland, but its reports are long and hard to compare. ClearCare sums up what each inspection found in a way that is easier to understand, so your family can see how a home is doing and talk through the choice together.

What this site doesn't do
It doesn't rate or recommend homes, or show free beds. For beds, ask the home or a hospital social worker.
A home's HIQA inspection reports, brought together on one page.
How a family chooses a home, and what to ask when you visit.
How the scheme works, who qualifies and how to apply.
Helplines, advocacy and the offices that handle Fair Deal.
Find your way around in a few minutes: read how the site works, or let us show you.

Questions come up at every step, about Fair Deal, a home you're worried about, or how to support the person moving. You don't have to find the answers on your own: your local Nursing Homes Support Office, Citizens Information, HIQA and support groups such as Sage Advocacy and ALONE are there to help.
